Project Final Compilation
INTRUCTIONS
Week 1 - 3 Progression
During the past three weeks, we focused on understanding the
fundamentals of UX and forming our project teams for the semester.
Our task is to collaborate with a business team to develop either
a website or mobile app. Before starting the design process, we
first selected a project topic and carried out market research.
The presentation below summarizes the research findings compiled
by our team.
Individual Competitor App Research:
Week 4 - 5 User Interview
This week, each team member interviewed two real users to better
understand the needs, opinions, and experiences of our target
audience. After completing the research, we returned to class,
where our lecturer introduced the "splitting notes" method for
organizing user feedback. By sorting similar insights into groups,
we were able to identify common patterns and gain a clearer
direction for designing our product. And i have prepared the 15 interview question ready for interview
to the audience.
We conducted interviews with two target users to better
understand their needs and experiences. After completing the
interviews, we analyzed their responses by breaking down the
feedback into smaller insights and organizing them into
different categories. This helped us identify common patterns
and better understand the users' needs.

Week 6 - User Persona
After collecting valuable insights from our user
interviews, we analyzed the data to create target user
personas and developed user scenarios based on each
persona's needs and goals.
Week 7 - User Scenario
Based on the user interview insights, I created a user
scenario and storyboard to visualize the real challenges
experienced by our target user. By mapping Sarah Lee's
grocery shopping journey and the issue of forgotten
vegetables leading to food waste, I was able to identify key
pain points and opportunities. This process helped define
the core features of the app, ensuring the final design
focused on solving real user problems rather than
assumptions.
The User Journey Map translates user research into a step-by-step experience, showing how the user's emotions, thoughts, and pain points evolve throughout the grocery shopping process. This helped identify key opportunities, including freshness tracking, inventory management, meal planning, and reminder notifications, ensuring the app's features directly solve real user problems rather than assumptions.
After analyzing the research findings, I translated
the identified pain points into three key solutions: a
Vegetable Freshness Tracker,
Smart Recipe Suggestions, and
Expiry & Usage Reminders. Each feature was designed to address real user
problems, helping users manage groceries more
effectively, reduce food waste, and simplify meal
planning. This solution-driven approach ensured that
the final product was both practical and
user-centered.
Week 8 - MoSCow & 2x2 Matrix
Our team conducted a brainstorming workshop to generate
potential features based on user research. Using the
MoSCoW prioritization method, we evaluated and organized these ideas into
Must Have,
Should Have,
Could Have,
and
Won't Have
categories. This process helped us focus on the most
impactful features for the MVP while keeping the project
scope realistic and user-centered.
To refine our feature selection, I used a
2×2 Impact–Effort Matrix
to evaluate each feature based on its user value and
implementation complexity. This helped prioritize
high-impact features such as
Vegetable Freshness Tracking,
Inventory Management, and
Smart Recipe Suggestions
for the MVP, while more complex features were planned
for future iterations. The matrix ensured our design
decisions balanced user needs with project feasibility.
Week 9 - Progression
I created the
Information Architecture (IA)
to organize the app's content and define the overall
navigation structure. By grouping related features and
establishing a logical hierarchy, the IA ensured users
could easily navigate between key functions such as
inventory management, recipe suggestions, meal planning,
shopping, and account management. This served as the
foundation for designing the user flow and
wireframes.
After defining the Information Architecture, I designed a
Sitemap
to visualize the application's navigation and content
hierarchy. It organizes the app into seven main
sections—Onboarding, Home, Shop, My Box, Checkout, Orders,
and
Profile—ensuring users can easily navigate between key features.
The sitemap served as a blueprint for the user flow and UI
design, helping create a simple, organized, and
user-friendly experience.
After finalizing the sitemap and user flow, I developed a
set of
low-fidelity wireframes
to map out the application's layout and user interactions.
These sketches focused on content placement, navigation,
and task flow rather than visual design, allowing me to
quickly refine the user experience before creating the
high-fidelity prototype.
To establish a consistent visual identity, I created a
moodboard
using references from modern grocery and e-commerce
applications. I then developed a simple design system by
defining the color palette and typography. Green and
orange were selected to reflect freshness and energy,
while
Inter
was chosen as the primary typeface for its clean
appearance and excellent readability. This visual
foundation ensured consistency throughout the
high-fidelity UI design.
Week 10 - Progression
To manage the project effectively, I developed a
SMART project plan
that outlined clear objectives, deadlines, and
deliverables for each stage of the design process. From
user research and wireframing to high-fidelity
prototyping and final presentation, the plan provided a
structured roadmap that kept the project organized,
ensured timely completion, and helped the team stay
aligned throughout the development process.
To manage teamwork effectively, we created a
RACI Matrix
that clearly defined each member's responsibilities
throughout the project. As the team leader, I
coordinated the project schedule, oversaw major UX
deliverables, and ensured tasks were completed on
time. This framework improved collaboration, clarified
ownership, and helped the team stay organized from
research through the final prototype.
I used a
Gantt Chart
in
Monday.com
to plan and track the project's timeline from
research to final submission. By assigning
deadlines, monitoring task progress, and managing
project milestones, the team was able to stay
organized, coordinate workloads effectively, and
complete all deliverables on schedule.
Week 11 - 12 Feedback
Based on our lecturer's feedback, i refined the
app by improving the information architecture,
user flow, and overall navigation. I introduced
flexible
Subscription Plans
as the main feature, redesigned the homepage to
highlight subscriptions, simplified the checkout
process, and created a more consistent visual
design through improved typography, colors,
spacing, and UI components.
Week 13 - High-Fi
Design
After carefully reviewing and implementing the feedback
received throughout the project, I completed the final
high-fidelity prototype of FreshBox+. I refined the
overall user experience by simplifying the navigation,
improving the checkout process, and introducing flexible
subscription plans as a core feature. I also established
a consistent visual design through refined typography,
colors, spacing, and reusable UI components. The final
prototype delivers a seamless user journey, allowing
users to browse fresh vegetables, subscribe to weekly
plans, place orders, track deliveries, and manage their
accounts with ease. This final iteration reflects my
ability to transform feedback into meaningful design
improvements while creating a polished and user-centered
solution.

Reflection
Bad Luck group with "Useless, Hopeless, Brainless" group
member. Group project but is my one man show to completed the whole
project. Luckily i have more experience on my leadership now.
