  The Task

This task requires working in multidisciplinary teams to develop creative briefs, design user-centered solutions, and produce prototypes or mock-ups for user testing of the tabletop game.

  Week 12

After last week’s presentation, we began refining our work based on feedback from Dr. Luqman and Ms. Anis. I rearranged the tasks among the team members and took responsibility for refining the guidebook.

1.1 First Version Guide Book

This is the version before refinement. We initially designed the guidebook in A3 size and folded it like an instruction sheet. However, after printing, it was too large and difficult to fold. Based on feedback from the presentation, I decided to redesign it as a small booklet using A6 size.

1.2 After Refinement - Second Version Guide Book

This is the revised A6 guidebook design. It looks cleaner and is easier to store in the packaging. I also updated the color scheme based on earlier feedback that the background was too dark. For the new version, I used a light beige color and added cookie elements to make it more visually appealing.

  Week 13

During this week, I informed all group members that we needed to complete all refinements so we could start reprinting. Jun Jie and I planned to print together after class. I wanted to print early so that if there were any issues, we would still have time to refine and reprint. At this stage, all cards, the guidebook, and the game board were finalized and ready for printing. Since Jun Jie and I have experience designing card games, we worked together to decide on the most suitable materials for the game.

2.1 Element Printing

2.2 Element Printing

We went for printing on Tuesday, and the process took around two days. This allowed us to show the printed version to Mr Shamsul for a final check. Luckily, everything was printed successfully. There were only some small parts that needed to be cut out and minor fixes required for the game board, but overall there were no major issues.

2.3 Printing Outcome Problem

Below is the latest final version after we asked the printing shop to reprint everything, as the previous quality did not match what Junjie and I selected. Luckily, this time the materials and quality are correct.

  Week 14

This week, we conducted a playtest at school to ensure all components were functional and the game was fully playable. After several rounds of testing, the overall gameplay was smooth, and no major issues were encountered.

  REFLECTION

Throughout the semester, we experienced both challenges and successes. The main difficulties came from group communication and teamwork. At times, teammates were not aligned, which led to arguments and delays. However, in the final weeks, our group began working together more effectively, and we were able to complete all tasks on time.

For me, the challenges were manageable because I was confident in my work and design process, and I had prior experience to guide me. I consistently met deadlines and stayed focused on my responsibilities.

This course has helped me strengthen important skills such as design improvement, leadership, time management, and task organization. Overall, I believe I performed well, and I am proud that our group successfully completed and submitted the project.
